Meet Julia Ruiz
Mother. Survivor. New Mexican.
Julia Ruiz isn’t a career politician—she’s a working mother and proud New Mexican who knows firsthand what it means to fight for a better life.
Born in Delicias, Chihuahua, Julia was raised on a ranch in Lybrook, NM, and later settled in Artesia. She moved to Doña Ana County in 1993 as a young mother.
In 2018, Julia proudly became a U.S. citizen—a milestone that deepened her commitment to community and public service. Now, she’s stepping up to lead—not as a politician, but as someone who’s lived the challenges, earned every opportunity, and believes New Mexico families deserve better.
For over three decades, Julia has called southern New Mexico home—raising two children and working hard while confronting a system that too often lets people down. After witnessing how politics has turned into a cycle of empty promises and misused tax dollars, Julia decided it was time for real change.
She’s not funded by insiders or party bosses. Julia is supported by everyday people—those who are fed up with the same tired excuses from politicians like Nathan Small. While he dodges accountability, Julia demands answers. While he boasts about budgets, she asks: where’s the money going? Why are our schools still falling short? Why are small businesses still struggling? And why are working families under more pressure than ever?
Julia envisions a New Mexico where parents have a voice, businesses are valued, and government knows its limits. She’s running to bring back common sense, ensure transparency, and fight for real value from every taxpayer dollar. In a state too often forgotten, and in a district that deserves real leadership, Julia Ruiz is stepping forward—not as a career politician, but as a citizen ready to make a difference.
I’m not a politician. I’m a mom, a worker, and a New Mexican who’s tired of watching our state come in last."

New Mexicans Deserve Better
End Wasteful Spending – Fight for Accountability
Taxpayer money should work for you, not be wasted on pet projects that help politicians more than people. Right now, there’s no return on investment for what we’re spending. Julia will fight to end reckless spending and demand transparency and accountability for every dollar.
Put Parents and Students First
New Mexico ranks last in education, and that must change. As a mom and longtime resident of Doña Ana, Julia knows our kids deserve better. She’ll push for real reforms that put students and families first, not bureaucrats and unions.
An Unwavering Ally for the Working Class
Julia will work to improve sick leave and other business policies in ways that support both employees and small businesses.
Stand for Safe Neighborhoods
Every family deserves to feel safe in their own neighborhood. But right now, crime is rising, and officers are being punished for doing their jobs. I’ll stand with law enforcement and work to restore common-sense policies that protect the public and keep criminals off our streets.
Put New Mexicans Before Politics
While career politicians brag about billions in pet projects, many families still can’t afford groceries, health care, or housing. I’ll demand answers, push for policies that deliver results, and make sure our communities come first.
